[Vwdiesel] corrado valve cover gasket

this may have been previously covered, but i could not find it in the
archives.

i promised a followup when i was done, and it is that the corrado valve
cover gasket trick does work! its really slick. the gasket is a one piece
molded rubber job with metal inserts at the stud locations. the gasket needs
STRAIGHT studs to work properly. the gasser guys claim that you can remove
the metal inserts and use over the stud boss, but that sounds like wasting a
good gasket for nothing.

some gaskets may or may not come with replacement studs. mine did not. i
used a lathe and 1/4" collet to turn down the boss, otherwise 6mmx30mm studs
should work.
