[Vwdiesel] I'm in love - Test drove a 2002 Jetta TDI this weekend

I agree, I recently bought a '02 TDI Jetta and there is no comparison
between my old faithful Rabbit and this new car. The available power
at practically any speed is very impressive, and it gets better mileage.
Even so, I too miss my old car (my wife thinks I'm nuts) but after 20
years you do get attached, even to a car.
Changing the timing belt on the TDI is going to be an experience, not
like on the 1.6. Same basic job but just a lot more stuff to move or
remove to get at the belt. To describe the engine compartment as
tightly packed is a real understatement.
But I too would never go back, I'm having too much fun commuting.
