  Aaahhh, the nature of mankind, if there are two ways of doing something,
someone will do it the second way. I guess the watercooled VW  way is more
compact or something, there must be a reason, it seems to work very
well(durabilty, smoothness, and cost?). I agree with VW and others with their
engine placement, the layout works well with our(and Germany's) L/H drive. I
've often wondered why the English drive on the wrong side of the road ?!?
