[Vwdiesel] A1 to A2 dash

Anyone have experience puting a A2 dash in an A1?
I have seen pictures of them.
I have a 1980 and the dashes are hard to find.
I see 1985-1992 dashes all the time.
Is this hard to do?

Can I change from square lights to round without
changing radiator supports?  I have all the cabriolet
parts except a 1988 front bumper...

I have heard of it being done somehow.

I have a sliding back glass for my truck.
How do you save the rubber?
I will take out the stock glass
and put in the slider.  Looks hard to do alone.
