[Vwdiesel] oil pressure gauge questions

It's happened a couple times recently that I've been
driving down the road and the only sound scarier than an EKG
flatline has bolted me out of my traffic induced coma--the
oil pressure buzzer. After I careen over to the side of the
road and shut down the engine the oil sensor is silent on
re-start. I'm thinking it's a failure of the high pressure
sensor again. I'd like to find a real gauge and stick it in
there. Nifty modifications aren't Bentley's strong suit,
though. I know that I want an electrical gauge not the
mechanical kind and that VDO gauges don't die suddenly on
start-up like the cheap kind in the
Autozone/O'Reiley's/etc. What I don't know is what thread
of sender I need, and I'm also wondering if it's possible to
rig up some kind of T-junction so I can plumb in both the
factory gauge with the useful buzzer and a gauge that gives
me real pressure values.

	Thanks.
