I remember an article in an old "Popular Electronics and Computers"
magazine from about 10 years ago that had a charger circuit you could
build yourself with this feature. Actually you can probably prevent
deposits forming by keeping batteries fully charged or using a
maintenance charge when parked. I've done this on my motorcycle which
starts fine---after 10 years. Have to check battery water level once in
awhile of course.
