Yes, sorry about that. It's a Canadian 1993 TD passat, with the cable shift
tranny.
No air, Plain vanilla with manual windows, sun roof.


I opened it up this afternoon and discovered the camshaft sprocket bolt was
finger-loose/tight :-(

I'm going to have captain hook bring it over to my place and I will attempt
to re-time it. Then see how many cylinders still hold air..
 If it's real bad news, I might give the owner a few dollars for it and
start looking for a 1.9 to replace it, or better, drop in my 1.6TD and run
it around until I rebuild the 1.9.

The camshaft is still intact and the valve buckets look OK, so I'll lift the
camshaft caps and find TDC, and reset everything and check for seal before I
pull the head.

What's to loose?

If the 1.6 will bolt in, I could have a working car by the end of the week,
but it has to fit the passat Tranny.
