[Vwdiesel] Next Project

Greetings all!

In the near future, I plan to sell my 1985 Jetta (the
one I bought from Hayden about six months ago) in
order to clear the way for my next project: a mid-90s
Mazda Miata with a 1.6TD engine installed. I paid
$2,700 for it and have since had $2,000 work done. It
now sports a three-speed automatic transmission. This
is my second and last of the Jetta diesel
manual-to-automatic retrofits. I will be offering it
on the list first, before moving to Ebay or similar. I
wanted to see if there is any interest. I'm looking
for best offer above $3,700. The engine is a 1.9TD,
recently installed (<20K miles).

My 1992 ECOdiesel is not for sale. As many of you
already know, I was rear-ended by a Spanish cab driven
by a Spanish driver. His insurance company has been
less than cooperative, and so after allowing the car
to languish in the year of the body shop for over SIX
WEEKS, I have elected to get the car fixed, pay it out
of my own pocket, and boink the insurance company for
the cost. I have an attorney and have cleared this
maneuver through him. This car is extremely rare, as
only 47 were produced.

Let me know if there is any interest in the '85 Jetta.
It is located in Downtown Houston, Texas, however I
may be interested in delivering it a REASONABLE
distance subject to expenses and return railfare.
