[Vwdiesel] fuel pump question

Hi,

    I put my engine together and  I can't get it to start either.  I have u=
sed the method that some people have put on here for priming the fuel pump =
and the out put out of the solid lines seems really weak.  It sort of out i=
t seems like more air seems to come out then fuel.  As I remember doing thi=
s in the past the fuel comes out of the line in  a pretty good squirt. The =
fuel comes out of the solid lines but more like  a somewhat energetic drop.=
  I have broken the line at the output of the fuel pump and filled it with =
fuel and broken the fuel line at the input to the pump and filled it with f=
uel.  Is there anything else I can do or is this pump shot.   Should I just=
 keep cranking with the accelerator down until I good solid squirt out of t=
he solid lines.
