Hey Gary O, maybe you can check this one out: I recently went to
Sarasota FL on business and checked out the vintage car museum there.
They had a spotless mid-80's Citröen I thought not much of until the
tour guide said "Turbo Diesel". Its owner lives in Sarasota and "stores"
it in the museum. The guide said the owner went through numerous hassles
with the US EPA to import it because it did not meet emissions
regulations and that it was the only Citröen turbo diesel of this model
in the country (some of the gas versions were sold here, but not the
TD). It has state of the art (for 1985) run flat electronic suspension
that works by running the car on 3 wheels (self leveling) at the push of
a button, among other things. The tour guide would not open the hood for
me because the museum was not the owner. That was the only diesel out of
the 150 plus cars in the museum! Its right across the street from the
Ringling Brothers estate and next to the airport.
