1. I agree, the parafin wax trick is better than penetrating oil.

2. When you get it out:

 When I change a gasket, I fill all the bolt holes with solvent, scrub the
threads with a toothbrush, and vacuum out the solvent with a plastic tube
(soda straw will work) I take one of the old bolts and slice a slot in it
lengthwise with a hacksaw to make sort of a tap out of it. Run this into
each hole to clean any junk from the threads. If junk is encountered, do the
solvent thing again after running the thread cleaner bolt in the hole.
VERY important there is NO oil (or coolant!!) in the holes at re-assembly,
or terrible things (cracked block, broken bolts, bad torqing, etc) will happen.
The new bolts have enough oil on them as received in the box, to lube them in.

Every head gasket I have done is still on the road without problems.
