If you did not release the timing belt before the flywheel conversion, and
the engine was running OK, I think the best thing to do would be to turn the
engine so the cam shaft and pump are in the right position to insert the
timing tools, then mark the flywheel using a q-tip and some white paint, so
you have a timing mark for future reference, and drive on. some kind of note
in the glove compartment noting what you did would alert any future owner as
to what's going on. If you ever dismantle the tranny from the engine again,
you might want to correct the situation.
The 2 cast "knobs" on the flywheel are not timing marks, but I believe the
TDC mark, a "o" on gassers, and a "v" cut on diesels, is between them.
