I would probably say grey-black smoke. Both at idle and a huge plume at full
throttle (which is where it was at most of the trip because of my 35Mph
top speed to get it to the shop).
The fuel filter is new (as is delivery tube from filter to pump). The
air filter is new. I cleaned the injector lines.. new rebuilt
injectors.
Can the engine run with the pump off by 180o? I could see myself doing
this when I tried to time it up the multiple times I tried. The
delivery screw on the top... you can tell it wasn't tampered with
because it has that yellow marking paint sealed across the screw and the
screw slot (broken if moved).
If they don't find any issues with the rebuilt injectors, I will ask
about the pump being off by 180.
Also, this was the first time I have ever replaced a head gasket. I
followed the Bentley instructions. Is there anything I could of screwed
up? New head 12-point bolts.. tightened in correct order.. correct
2-notches like the old gasket.

The engine ran great before I mucked with everything. :) So I'm pretty
sure there isn't a problem with the pump.
I'll relay some of this information back to my tech after he calls about
the injector testing. I'll keep you people posted. :)
