The oil squirters are really not feasible to add. You need to machine a
flat spot on a "boss" in the block. It then needs a hole drilled and tapped.
Each one also needs a precision hole drilled and reamed for a tight slip
fit. The squirters have a spring/ball valve to close the squirters off when
oil pressure is below 24 psi or some number. The TD pistons are
different as to accommodate the squirters. There's a notch cut out for
clearance. New ones are around $30 each last time I checked.
I HAVE done "squirter" additions on a couple blocks. I simply drill
a hole part way into the main bearing saddles, then a smaller hole,
the same size as original squirters, the rest of the way. The angle is
such as to get fairly constant oil flow to the bottom of the pistons.
Then a matching hole is drilled in each upper main bearing half. If you
don't like them then replace the main bearing shells and they're
eliminated! :) Since you have 4 new open ports in the oil system,
you need a bigger oil pump.
It's not as good or convenient as a factory TD block but there aren't
many options for a 1.5/1.5TD ;-)
