  No, the restriction caused the intake side of the turbo to start sucking
oil.
This resulted in poor oil consumption, poor lubrication of the turbo, higher
oil usage, until the turbo bearings were worn enough to allow contact
between the housing and one of the impellers.  The shaft then broke.
