Good point. I had one fail and I was following a big
truck, so I thought the truck was the source of the
diesel smell and kept driving. When I got off the
highway, smoke was just coming out from under the
hood. Fuel was getting on the exhaust manifold. The
engine was a mess! Luckly, a VW dealer was accross the
street, and open. In a pinch I'd imagine you could
take an inch long piece of injector return hose and
shove a screw or small stick into one end and put the
other over the injector nipple.
