Gavrik Peterson , aside from needing one more friend in Seattle  ,    I hav=
e no take in this.    Am driving a 1.6L Rabbit turbo 1984. --- it had a rin=
g job and new rod bearings at 183 888 km  -- by a dealership. Seems to be t=
he thing to do. Now I doubt that is what you need as far as loss of power a=
nd smoke.           Oh almost forgot  this one now has 253 000 km on clock.
Before going ahead read a bit more of the archives here   , and wait for th=
e grand wizards to advice you.
Let us know more details like Pump number   vw 068 130 xxx xxx    and year =
of Rabbit     is it a turbo ?       Hagar.
PS: did you own it from new ?.
