[Vwdiesel] Simple tune up questions

I thought Amsoil made a 5w40 ... oops. At least they make a decent diesel rated oil. As far as Delvac goes, there have been reports of Wal-Marts in the USA selling it, just not everywhere. Most people have to order it or find it at truck stops.
On air filters, there has really been no conclusive proof that a high flow air filter will cause turbo or MAF failure. Any impeller damage I saw was due to improper installation of the air filter and that allowed unfiltered air to enter the air stream. ( I have had a K&N filter on my car since I got it @ 93K. It now has 230K and the impeller still looks just like new. )As far as I know there have been equal failures of the MAF for those with and those without paper filters. The MAF's are just crappy. On thing though, don't over oil the filters or you'll definitely have MAF problems ...
