[Vwdiesel] Glow Plug Brands?

So, I'm trying to see if this 82 Jetta 1.6NA will get running with just glow
plugs and a head gasket.  Compression is low in two cylinders (350-360-420-420
or so), lots of black smoke out the back, the coolant reservoir is
pressurizing, I hope it's not a cracked head.  Got it started with ether, but
I don't want to do that again.  Three of the *FAST* glow plugs are burned out.

Bosch plugs are available for $17 each plus shipping from vwparts.com, local
shops sell autolite plugs for $10.  Anyone had success with the cheaper ones?
My local junkyard wanted $10 each for used Bosch, I talked him down to $7 (too
$$) and then a plug separated into two parts on me - needless to say I didn't
try removing the other three.

Anyone have working FAST plugs they'd like to sell me?  Opinions on non-Bosch
plugs?  How about mixing plug brands?

P.S. the hook and pick set with 10 days of P'Blaster successfully removed the
stuck injector shield, thanks guys!
