[Vwdiesel] Rust Prevention

Hi Out there in Salt Land:
My son is into Toyota Land Cruisers which are
notorious rust buckets. He picked up a tip from
a 'Cruiser nut up in New York State who is also
a fleet manager. This guy takes a big can of
WD-40 and goes over the entire undercarriage
of his vehicles about this time of the year,
keeping the spray away from rubber and plastic
parts, and of course the brakes.

It seems to me that spray oil might work
better as it would stick longer, but maybe not
penetrate as well as WD-40, which I think is
mostly kerosene.

Any thought on this out there?
