I wasnt sure whether the hole grew or shrank with heat, as I felt some of the
expansion would be towards the hole...or so I thought... I didnt think it
would act like having another 'scaled-up' block and hole...Perhaps the cracks
are simply heat stress related...I wonder if its a fault with coolant levels
/efficiencies.... I recently looked at the level of coolant inthe 'header
tank' and thought it was not much above the head , and any losses would
quickly leave head vulnerable...(Quantum TD).... I  wonder if a slight tilting
of engine would help protect head, (I have already raised the 'header tank'
about 1/2-3/4 inch into the bonnet)
