[Vwdiesel] pulling the shutoff solenoid

I don't have my injection pump in front of me for reference, but I
believe the fuel feed line enters the pump via the solenoid. If the
solenoid is removed, is there a way to connect the fuel line to the
pump? If there is, then how would you shut off the engine? The
purpose of the solenoid is to cut fuel from the engine to stop the
engine from firing. But, to answer your question, if you can hook up
the fuel line to the pump without the solenoid, it should work. If
the solenoid is not functioning properly, you might try finding a
used 1 to replace it with. Not sure the price of one new, or even if
they are available.
