[Vwdiesel] What's the deal on diesel (fuel) prices?

Venezuela went on strike back in Oct 2002. Why the price hike now? Has
OPEC slowed production? Not to my knowledge. In fact, OPEC had said they
would raise production to counteract the Venezuela strike.
All I know for sure is West Texas Intermediate Crude was over $35 a barrel
at closing this past Friday, Feb 7. The all time high was just over $36 a
barrel during the Gulf War in 1991.
But look on the bright side, us truckers will just start threating to strike
due to the high diesel prices and the prices will magically come down again.
Just like they always do. };-)
