[Vwdiesel] Oil Buzzer

Some thoughts on the oil buzzer:

     - The ususal culprit is the oil pressure sender on
the end of the head. It is at the end of the oil feed
path, and is the most sensitive of the two senders.
Crud in the oil galleries can cause this sender to
blink. The sender can also be bad. The two senders
look alike but they use a different colored plastic
to identify them. High speed driving cause high oil
temp, then going to idling will give you the lowest
oil pressure and may cause the buzzer to go off too.

     - If you are going to use a seperate oil pressure
gauge, use an electrical gauge. I learned the hard
way one morning when I was tired and the copper line
to my mechanical gauge broke and cost me an engine.

     - Older A1's and A2's do not have a horn to warn
you of a problem. Good idea to install one, I just
have not gotten around to it. The alternator light
needs a horn too, since the belt drives the water
pump, and when the belt breaks the engine coolant
temperature skyrockets quickly.

My two cents for today.
