I'm not so sure it would need much work to reverse the engine...wot about
these stunt drivers doing it with petrol (sorry gasser) demolition cars....I
feel its just a matter of adjusting the cam timing and injection timing and tow
starting back wards in a forward gear ...or forwards in   reverse! After all cam
timing is about shifting the max power band in relation to speed....

Left handed threads...Perhaps car designers were cycle rider/mechanics as
children and never forgot....or may be the left handed thread bolt  was by
special order through 'stealership' only
