Obviously you missed the underlying point of my response.  If 20W50 is
suitable for OPERATING TEMPS in July, then there's no reason why 5W50
isn't suitable for OPERATING TEMPS in January.  Nobody's advocating
running 20W50 year round here.

Personally, I wouldn't spend extra $$ to get 5W50 over 5W40, but running
it is not going to cause oil pressure problems in winter, which is what
you suggested in your original response (to Sandy's comment:)
