  No long hair here but that does sound familiar.  I'd have to do some
digging
but somewhere I think I have an article that tells about it.  That or my
brother in law has/had it.  I think it's in the same article telling about
the fuel tank size restriction but none on the fuel line, so they had about
30 to 40 feet of 1" copper fuel line snaked all over the car for extra
range.  They'd also put compressed air to the fuel tank so it'd hold more
fuel then you put a jack under it after the race to pop it back to proper
dimension.  All kinds of trick in that article.  I'll have to find that
someday!
