yes it will.  One big promotional bit of boojum they had here was a motor
running all day with no oil in it.  Sure, dump in some oil with lots of
anti-fling additives, it sticks to everything, then run the engine at idle.
Remember, engines used to not have any pressure feed lubrication at all.
Once the pump pressure goes away, the oil galleries are also mostly full of
the sticky bug snot, which provides a measure of lubrication.  At idle,
there are very small forces on an engine, especially the little inline six
they had on display.

STP used to do this in my Dad's day- they filled a crankcase with stp,
drained it, then drove the car around the block to show what good stuff it
was.  Anti fling additives I tell ya. More things to make you BELIEVE in
snake oil.  Look at what it can do!!
