Thanks for all the advice and flowing threads. It's fixed and here are the
results.
First panic mode - change the oil and filter brand and viscosity. I have
always used Castrol (I know the issues) 20/50 summer and 10/40 in bitter cold
and Fram Filters. My last Jetta wound up with 478,000 and the body fell apart
around the motor so I continued with it in this car. This round Rotella 15/40
and a NAPA filter - problem still existed. Went to the parts Jetta and
swapped out the oil pressure sensor at the top of the head - problem still
existed. Next swapped out the on on top of the oil filter mount and problem
resolved.

I will replace with a new one as with the high milage why have a reoccuring
problem.

Why the two oil pressure sensors? I guess they might not be the same setting
as both cars had a black plastic top on the head mounted one and a white
plastic top on the oil filter one.

Just happy the pump wasn't the problem and all the input from the list.

Terry
