Just got rid of my old sailboat :-( which had one of these... It had a
gasoline Vire marine motor with a Bosch Dynastart.  The Dynastart was
connected to the crank via v-belt.

When electicity was applied from the battery the Dynastart functioned as a
starter motor.  I'm assuming there was some sort of a governor, since once
the motor started then the Dynastart then became a DC generator.  Didn't put
out much juice, but then (being a sailing purist) not a lot was needed...
