Below 0F last three mornings, high temps up to +5F in central Illinois.
Block heater normally on a timer for 2 hours in the morning, but due to
unpredictable callouts I've left it on full time.
No problems at all starting or running, but plugs are fairly fresh
Bosch, battery on third winter, cables #1 or #2 gauge with Rotella synth in
the crankcase, 4 0z. Stanadyne per tank, fuel filter new last summer.
Longest period sitting outside in the cold was a 16- hour shift last
week in single digit and teens F, plugs took awhile to cycle, but it fired
right up, stumbled for maybe two seconds and smoothed out.
The oil light goes out quite quickly under either circumstance, so I'll
stick with Rotella synth for winter.
Fuel economy dropped last tank by about 7 mpg, looks worse this time.

And don't forget the forecasts that this would be a warm and wet winter
due to el Nino.
>>Global warming seems to be turning people into sissies.<<
Someone asked me yesterday how I could stand working outside at -5F. I
told him that it wasn't too cold to work outside until you can hear the
crack from, well, let's say for list purposes, spit freezing before it hits
the ground.
Cheers,
