[Vwdiesel] Caddy Radiator Shroud Alignment

When I installed new radiator I see a 3/4 inch fan shroud gap on inside
exposing the fins along the driver's side top to bottom.  Will the 3/4
inch gap reduce cooling efficiency enough to be a concern ? I could
elongate shroud mounting holes to reduce gap but then top pin mount will
not be centered.
