I was at the Big Island of Hawaii (not Honolulu) about last Sept and it was
the opposite.  Saw a lot mode diesels.  Saw a few TDI's and a lot of pickups
sporting the diesel engines.  Was sitting at a drive in and about 7 out of 10
contractor trucks passing thru drive in had the click clack of the diesel
engines. If I remember right, a lot of FORDs
