[Vwdiesel] TDI Automatic Info Request

Hi All,

Still looking for TDI - I've decided on 2002 GLS TDI wagon, 5 speed. I test
drove a TDI ( 2002) w/ auto awhile back, and didn't like it. It seemed to take
too long to engage after selecting Drive or Reverse...I was told, however,
that these transmissions have " adaptive " characteristics,i.e, they can
adjust thier behavior based on how you drive the car. Anyone have any pro or
con on this ? I'm not totally against an automatic if the right one comes
along, but I didn't like the one I test drove, that's for sure....
