  That's fairly amazing considering most domestic and also a lot of newer
cars in general, overdrive the alternators about 1:3 or higher.  That's 15 to
20K rpm!
  Be sure to check the connections.  I had charging problems and the
only thing showing, other than marginal charging, was a dim glow, VERY
dim glow from the alternator light.  It was only under certain rpms and
only visible at night, without the lights on.  It was a poor connection from
the + wire, from the alt, at the battery.
