  While the initial thought sounds good, it's likely you'll be shifting gears
so
quickly that you'll be sick of it in short order.  :)  When Jake got his
power
way up, he was complaining about "rowing" through the first 3 gears to get
any speed up and that was with a short shift kit!  Even in city you spend
most of your time in 3rd to 5th depending on the speed limits.  With a
close ratio you'd be in 4th or 5th all the time and every stop would be
double time stroke, stroke, stroke getting there.
