[Vwdiesel] Avoidance of Glycol in Coolant

I have had several first-hand experiences similar to Shawn's.
There are certainly times I run straight water, but it's generally only
to escape having to spend the $$ on glycol, and it's always intended to
be short term. VW has made the water pump a cherished chore on most
engines, and I don't like the practice.

The way I see it, the cooling benefits clearly lean towards the use
of glycol. A 50-50 mix is not required. A 25% mix provides substantial
cooling benefit.

Can anyone talk about the different additive packages for diesel vs.
non-diesel cooling systems?
