[Vwdiesel] Rear suspension issues

Hello,
I'm having some problems with the rear shocks in my Jetta. The story is that
I went over a large pothole and it made the top of my passenger's side shock
come up through the tower and punch a small hole into the rear deck
material. I got new Boge Turbogas shocks from Adirondack, along with new
bump stops. So I took the old shocks out, put everything back together, and
it's still doing the same thing, meaning that the top of the shock is still
sticking up through the tower.
Thinking that the passenger side shock tower may have been damaged, I then
moved the passenger side assembly over to the driver's side, with the same
result. So I at least know it's not something with the tower itself that's
causing the issue. I then ordered some new coil springs from Adirondack,
took the assemblies out, installed the new coil springs, and put them back
in. Still the same thing! I'm wondering if I need to get a set of new
bushings to fix this, or what the solution may be. The bottm bushing on the
screwed up assembly seems to be slightly split and looks to need
replacement. Adirondack sells stock rubber bushings, or Polyurethane
bushings for A2s. I'm thinking of getting the poly bushings if it is in fact
the problem. That's the last thing I can think of since I've replaced a) the
shock, b) the coil spring, and c) the bump stops. New bolts on the lower
mount too. I have pictures up for a visual reference. Please go to
http://home.gwi.net/~dslfan/jetta to see the pics. The driver_side_1.jpg
file illustrates the problem best. I can take more pics if needed, the
second driver's side one didn't come out too well. As a side note, if I lift
the back end of the car it looks normal, until I stop lifting the broken
side. Thanks in advance for your help.
