I would change the filter at the VW oil change interval, which is 5000 miles for TD,
and 7500 miles for NA. (The ECO is a TD). If you have a good source for Mann, use
them, they are excellent. Other good filters to use are Bosch, Mahle, VW, and
Baldwin B114. I have been using the Baldwin B114 for several years with good
success, as I can get them fairly cheap through work. Baldwin/Hastings makes filters
for Amsoil, and they are also a well respected heavy diesel filter, so I trust them.
