Nate Wall  after reading you stuff with some interest, I went down and look=
ed at the 1.5 L   boat anchor..
It is totally stripped --- a mechanic was changing head gasket and the bloc=
k split in 3 ways at the threaded hole front corner by tranney. (92 000 Km =
since new )  hope the newbies  take heed..Anyway when an experienced person=
 like  Val Christian has trouble finding it ---- it is likely something lik=
e you suggested.. And being covered up by the motormount plate makes it a P=
ITA leak.   But the plate is a handy thing to stop the leak as well .Pry ou=
t say 15 thou and put the loctite to the test. Makes for a good ingenuity t=
easer.     -- as a comment the casting is a bit skinny here and there ----a=
nother 50 pounds of cast iron would have been nice.                     My =
