    How long did it take to empty it with the return line fed back into the
bottle?  That might tell something. The last time I ran Diesel Purge through
mine with the return feeding back to a quart jar it took close to 20 minutes
to empty it.

    Might be worth looking into.  If water is in it, it *should* show up in
a clear container if you drain the filter tap at the bottom.  Gunk- algae-
might show up there, too.  Suppliers with low turnover are always a bit
suspect; it might have been in a leaky underground tank for several months.
Hope it's just water; algae is a major pita to get rid of.
