[Vwdiesel] weird slow-down

That answer jogged my memory... This happened to me one time. and I thought
it was odd because the engine ran great, just the car wasn't going that
fast... then a little later it was ok, and it would come back again. The
next day, off the highway, I couldn't do over 30 and I was pulling to the
right. Then I knew what it was, so I pulled over. You could burn your hand
if you touched the rim. Caliper frozen. So, I let it cool, took the
caliper off, shoved some wood in between the pads in case it decided to come
loose, and I tied the whole mess under the car somewhere, and drove the
remainding 210 miles home. So, if it runs great, do not overlook that. I
realised it came in and out after each time I slowed down... stepped on the
brake. Good luck
