Why do you hate DT running lights? If implemented properly, as VW has
done (with tailights also on full time), they are an excellent feature to
improve safety. Countless times I have had close calls with vehicles not
driving with headlights on during the day when visibility is reduced. Most
drivers simply cannot be trusted to turn their lights on in these cases, so
DT lights do it for them. However, many cars (mostly American it seems)
have a poor system design where the DT lights only affect the headlights,
ignoring side a rear visibility issues, and often causing people to forget to
turn their lights on just after dusk, making them *invisible* from behind...
I *always* drive with headlights on, regardless of conditions, and always
have, even before DT lights. It is posted policy on logging roads, and just
makes sense anywhere else...
