  We did an early 80's colt exhaust once in an experimental mode.  First we
replaced the rear muffler with a same-length glass pack.  It was too noisy.
The cats were damaged from burning oil so we put another of the same
where the rear cat had been.  Quite nice!  A little brappy if you got on it
but his Dad drove VERY softly so it was actually as quiet or quieter than
original.  :)
  I've thought of doing a Flowmaster on the Rabbit when I do it.  The same
friend had a Dynomax put on his Subaru though and it was really quiet
except for a VERY low, deep rumble that you felt more than heard.  It'd
set off car alarms but was still quiet.  :)
