[Vwdiesel] fuel filter change 0n 97 passat tdi

  So is it running and you just see a lot of air?  We had that with Dad's and
it was a couple of things.  The fuel heater/diverter wasn't working right so
it'd never kick back to the tank and loose the air.  It just kept going
'round
and 'round.  Also one end of the clear hose, where it crimps onto rubber
hose, was leaking air at the crimp.  A little JB Weld fixed that.  Also in
the tank there was a hose or sleeve or something that would allow air into
the system if it was slid down, and it was.  Had more power, mileage and
no air in the lines after we got all done.  What a PAIN!  Also had a crimped
hose going to the ECU that was REALLY cramping the power supply!
