Bon Ami is GM's "cure all".  In the 50's they had a batch of V8's that the
cylinder was finished to well, and they would burn oil as the rings would never
seat. Cure: run the engine around 2000 RPM and shake some Bon Ami in the carb.

Windshilds are streaking, and new wipers don't seem to fix it? CURE: make a
paste out of water and Bon Ami and clean the windshield with it.
