The plastic ends are a ball sockets with a locking
tabs that squeeze them tight. Its real easy to break
off the tab, so be careful. Take a small screwdriver
and gently pry open the tab on the plastic ball
socket. After it releases, grasp the end of the
linkage firmly, and pull straight up, anticipating a
sudden release as the linkage lets loose of the metal
ball on the pivot linkage. Its a good idea to clean
off the old grease (if any) and use a little new
grease on the balls, and other linkage contact points
as well, when reassembling.
