EGT probes are common on NA and turbo recip aircraft engines.
I have not differentially priced them from aircraft supply vs.
big diesel supply companies, though.

Also, some local race car enthusiasts are using IR "point and read"
pyrometers to diagnose engine issues.  Such devices are apparently
also handy when diagnosing more mundane things like catalytic
converter problems.
