  No, same CR across the board.  My take on why the TDs use higher
break pressure has to do with the higher combustion pressures.  It
keeps the pressure DIFFERENTIAL higher.  Found out the hard way
so to speak.  Dad's pickup's original engine was one of those cases
where replacing the head gasket with what came out was a no-no.  It
had way too thin of one and when we later checked compression it
was in the 700 to 750 psi range!  As that engine broke in and sealed
better, it LOST power rather than gaining it.  It was obviously getting
less fuel, as I had to turn the pump up a little to get any power out
of it.  It felt sluggish over all too.  Like it was having to fight extra
hard
to compress the air in the chamber, which it was.  The higher pressure
led to a lower pressure differential which lead to a shorter open time
for the injector I suspect.
