Here in Romania the kids play very often with acetylene cannon, especially
in the winter. I'd never used them though. When I was a little boy a
neighbor blew off two fingers of his right arm. I did use an acetylene lamp
on fishing trips. My grandfather has an acetylene torch. It's a tank where
the calcium carbide is dissolving in water forming acetylene which is mixed
with O2 in the torch.
So my point is: Be very careful with ACETYLENE - it is very destructive in
the wrong hands!
